Receipt of Request
- Pursuant to FOIL §89(3), an agency must grant access to records, deny access in writing, or acknowledge the receipt of a request within (5) five business days of receipt of a request. Please allow a minimum of twenty (20) business days to process and retrieve your request. Within said time, you will either be provided with copies of the requested material or issued an explanatory letter of denial, as records or portions thereof may fall within one or more grounds for denial appearing in §87(2)(a) through (i) of the Law.
Delivery Preference
- Please note that your preferred method of delivery will only be accommodated if the Records Access Officer has the technological means and the integrity of the records will not be jeopardized by such method of delivery.
Deposits/Fees
- We will notify you of any special charges or other additional charges authorized by State law or regulation before processing your request. Payment shall be made by cash, check, or money order payable to the Village of Southampton.
Certification
- The Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law, Article 6) (FOIL) grants members of the public access to the records of government in accordance with its provisions.
